Women migrant workers around the world

Being an inmigrant in any part of the world, no matter where you are things are not going to be easy starting with the permits that you have to have so that you can work.

Avery big problem that exists in this cases is that people from the home country think that they can be exploiting people that come from other parts of the world because it is not easy for them to find jobs so they are not going to quit, and this is not a lie not at all because when a person goes to another country the person has to know that it is not easy to find a job because of your race, your culture, your age and your gender, specially if you are a woman because there is a lot of discrimination all around the world.

when women try to get jobs in different parts of the world as for example the United States of America you can see that colombian women that go there are always trying to find a good job with a good salary but it is not always like this because if you do not have papers you have to look for someone that gets you to work with him without them and that is an illegal way of working and you would be deported this is why they look forward to obtain the resident ID so that they can work and the easiest way to get hired is to go to a family house and look for a job as a maid or you can offer to clean houses and that is not a good job but it is not what you had seen as the american dream.

In this times it is easier for women to get jobs bt no matter what there is still a lot of discrimination and racism.

This is why globalization is very important because it generaes more jobs and because of the more migrant workers including women are going to have more oportunitties all around the world.

Something about Ubuntu theory

Ubuntu theory talks about justice and equality among people this is why we should look into this theory and learn about it because we have to learn how to treat people and how to behave.

This theory was perfectly explained by Nelson Mandela and in southafrica is a perfect example nowadays because all the people can live together and it is not as it was almost 20 years ago when the apartheid that black people could not be sharing anything with white people. After mandela became president he started teaching people how not to be resentfull because of the way they were treated before and because racism is always going to exist.
Ubuntu theory can help organisations and employees because everybody is going to be treated the same way and this is why if there is less power distance communication between each other should be easier and more informal.

Ubuntu, as explained by Bishop Desmond Tutu:
Ubuntu is a concept that we have in our Bantu languages at home. Ubuntu is the essence of being a person. It means that we are people through other people. We cannot be fully human alone. We are made for interdependence, we are made for family. When you have ubuntu, you embrace others. You are generous, compassionate. If the world had more ubuntu, we would not have war. We would not have this huge gap between the rich and the poor. You are rich so that you can make up what is lacking for others. You are powerful so that you can help the weak, just as a mother or father helps their children. This is God's dream.”

Coquitos

My idea is to create a product that colombians and foreigners would feel identified with because when they eat it then they can say that this product is a colombian product and that it is the best product they have tried with this flavour(coconut).

The idea would be to make a package that would be done of nature so that the package can be 100% biodegradable and its name would be coquitos that is a name i think is very catchy and the package would have all sorts of colors that would create an image that more than likely would stay in people minds.

This would be done by means of:

- To let people know that the product is the best in the market and that it is very rare so that foreigners would like to try it.

- Start making new products that you can combine with the one that already exists.

- The product would have discounts but just for special clients.

- It would need a very big advertising so that people know what coquitos is made of and how it tastes.

Pygmalion effect

The Pygmalion effect is clearly a no pain no gain concept. it is the concept which says that when you most expect from someone, that is exactly when peolple produce their best results.

When speaking of the pygmalion effect, one can only think of our Colombian national team. in just one game and with the help of a group of cheerleader like coaches, ,Hernan Gomez and Leonel Alvarez, there a sense of confidence which was not present in the previous process.

There used to be a time not long ago when the entire country would rally behind our national team. Players were expected to deliver in the clutch, and they did. Somehow this path was lost and we were left with just the memories.

What the Colombian Soccer federation did, was to bring back a person with whom the majority of the players identify, a person who believes in his players and always trusts that the output on their part will always be positive.

classmates blogs

I visited some of my classmates blogs and these ones were the ones:

I liked them because they all tried to talk about different dimensions and i liked their different points of view because nobody thinks the same about anything.

Importance of power distance

Power distance is a very important issue in terms or intercultural relations because there are countries with a big level of power distance, and in countries like these ones employees are very afraid of speaking to their bosses because they are the ones that give them orders and they can not go against their bosses ideas because they think they are going to be fired if they do that and they are not thinking in a wrong cause that is the truth.

Most of the latinamerican countries have this problem or this issue if we can call it a problem but this power distance explains why there are more poor people in countries with high power distance than the ones that have low power distance, this is because there are not to many bosses in those countries, differently from latin america where if you just started in a new job you are going to have like ten different bosses, and each one of these bosses has a boss. I dare to say that low power distance is a very good thing for a country because almost all of the people in countries like these ones have a good profit and this profit is almost the same if you are the president or the vice-president of a company because you are not afraid of speaking to your boss and because there is a low power distance in these countries.

In low power distance countries a normal employee would not be afraid of talking to his highest boss because they can talk just like friends and they can start a good conversation because they have a very small number of supervisors that is why there is not a big hierarchical distance between them.
